In Banja Luka, a special event honoring our common heritage took place.
Organized by ANIP “Veselin Maslesa” and partners, the event focused on the art of the embroidery, making “Zmijanski Vez” a bridge connecting not only the past, but also the future of our Region.
Zmijanje embroidery, a unique technique practised by women in the villages of Zmijanje on mountain Manjača, near Banja Luka, was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2014.
Additionally, participants enjoyed a stunning folk costume show.
By passing this unique tradition to the younger generations, we believe we are contributing to the preservation of the region’s unique values and culture while fostering new opportunities for large-scale cooperation.
“Zmijanski Vez: Honoring Tradition and Enriching the Future” is a project of the 6th Call for Proposals.
