Last week, the Executive Director of the Western Balkans Fund, Mr. Murra, welcomed Elisa Fernandez, Deputy Regional Director of UN Women, during her official visit to Tirana.
Mr. Ribotta, UN Women Representative to Albania also attended.
During the discussion, the Secretariat presented the organization’s ongoing work in supporting regional cooperation and strengthening inclusive initiatives across the Western Balkans.
Particular attention was given to the role of regional projects in advancing gender equality, women’s empowerment and inclusive development.
Both parties agreed to reinforce shared commitment to building more inclusive and equitable societies across the region.
Currently, the WBF is setting up a dedicated Gender Equality Fund and we consider UN Women a close partner in that process.
