The Western Balkans Fund, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the International Visegrad Fund, is proud to organise next spring the biggest Women Leadership Regional Conference.
Unstoppable! Is the motto of the Women’s Leadership Regional Conference that will flag gaps and empower opportunities that bring women closer to glass ceiling positions.
Today, at our Secretariat, the Japanese Ambassador to Tirana, H.E. Takada, and the Executive Director of WBF, Dr Murra, signed an agreement which extends our already intensive cooperation to a fourth consecutive year.
Thanks to Japanese Funding, the Western Balkans Fund has already organised two large events, the Civil Society Regional Summit and the FIRE Conference against hate speech and discrimination. The Call for Papers on Civil Society recovery after the pandemic was also funded by the Japanese Government.
Similarly, to the FIRE Event, which become the biggest regional event of 2022 in the fight against hate speech by gathering more than 70 experts and more than 3.000 participants, the Unstoppable project will unite successful women from the Western Balkans, Visegrad Countries and European Union, to explore how we can achieve full gender equality at the shortest possible timeframe.
The Western Balkan Fund grew out of a desire to see more women represented in business and community leadership roles.
To us, this desire is not just about inspiring women to step up as leaders but also about encouraging women to use their voices and share their stories.
In that regard, WBF is dedicated to providing personal inspiration and practical application to promote more equitable representation of women leadership in our communities at every career level and at all stages of personal growth.
Every spring, WBF, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan put on a large conference in WB region. WBF brings in national, regional & international speakers and creates a day of inspiration, connection, and rejuvenation.
Around 120 women around the region and beyond will be part of this conference. The conference will contain panel discussions, dialogue/interactive sessions, presentations, networking and movie screening. The conference is expected to be three days in total, fully packed with events throughout the time being in Tirana, Albania.
WBF will cooperate with theatres and other public premises in Tirana where the presentations, dialogue sessions, and movie screenings will take place in order to have a bigger outreach at a local level as well.
