On 23 April, we celebrated the International Day of Girls in ICT in a unique way.
The Macedonian Gaming Industry, a grantee of the 7th Call for Proposals, received the prestigious “Grand Prix for Best Event in Macedonia 2025” at the BEAM – Best Event Award Macedonia.
This award recognized MGI’s achievements, including the WBF-funded project “Games Divas”, which supported the inclusion of girls in the gaming industry at a regional level.
The project also helped establish a strong and thriving network of cooperation between MGI and its partners: the Serbian Games Association, C4Communities, and the Albanian Gaming Community.
Gender equality is not a side issue in our work. It is becoming an increasingly strong and integral part of our mission.
Last year, at the Berlin Process Summit in London in 2025, it was decided that at least 15% of the Fund’s core budget would be earmarked for projects promoting gender equality.
Very soon, a highly anticipated grant scheme, specifically designed to support initiatives advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment across the Western Balkans, will be officially launched.
