The Secretariat of the Western Balkans Fund has started the assessment of the regional project proposals submitted, as part of its First Call, immediately after the deadline, 22 December 2017. During this time period, 360 projects were analyzed in details, based on the standards made public on the Guidelines of the Call.
It is positive the fact that the number of projects that could not pass the eligibility check is quite low. This clearly shows that the quality and the standard of the proposals are high. The organizations have done a careful work on preparing their proposals, involving the partners, and for fulfilling the basic terms requested.
The WBF Secretariat is aware of the difficulty of the organizations on finding suitable partners that would strongly enhance people to people contacts in the Western Balkans, that’s why we generally consider the overall process as a very good bridge-building experience.
WBF Secretariat has now progressed to the second important phase: the evaluation process of the project proposals. WBF wish to inform that the evaluation of the project proposals will be organized mainly in-house, based in the capacities of the Fund.
WBF Secretariat will continue to inform accordingly, related to the results of its First Call for Regional Project Proposals.
