Tirana, 28 June 2024 – Fighting corruption is of pivotal importance for the Western Balkans region, and the Western Balkans Fund (WBF) is committed to supporting this long-lasting process by any possible means.
This is why we are happy to announce that today, the WBF and the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at bringing the two organizations closer.
The signing ceremony took place at the WBF Secretariat in Tirana, with Dr. Gjergj Murra, Executive Director of the WBF, and Ms. Desislava Gotskova, Head of the Secretariat of RAI, formally sealing the agreement.
Based on the MoU, we jointly agreed to support Civil Society Organisations and other regional stakeholders in fighting against corruption.
We also commited to raise awareness, support the strengthening of regional network and facilitate the transfer of knowledge between our two organisations.
Finally, during their direct conversation, the Executive Directors exchanged ideas about potential joint events or projects that we can host together in the near future.
“This MoU marks a pivotal step towards a more transparent and accountable future for our region, and we are grateful to RAI for this newly established cooperation”, Dr. Murra underlined.
Established in 2000, the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative is a leading example of excellence and significant acheivements in the South East Europe and the Western Balkans Region.
