5th Call for Proposals

The Fifth Call for Proposals, co-funded by the European Union was launched on 20 May 2022. Deadline for submission of Project Proposals expired on 9 July 2022. With an overall objective to contribute towards strengthening regional cooperation, and strengthen regional cohesion in the WB6 region, the Call had foreseen three main areas of intervention through which applicants could have submitted their applications: Cultural cooperation, education & scientific exchanges, and sustainable development. The three areas include many other cross-cutting issues, such as gender mainstreaming, equal opportunities, minorities and vulnerable groups, environment and climate change, and others.

The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is EUR 500.000 EUR, with grants up to 15.000 EUR and projects from 3-10 months.

The evaluation process of the received projects started in September 2022, lasting until the end of November. In December 2022, applicants were officially notified of their application status.

The project contributes to enhance regional cooperation between the Western Balkans Region by sharing scientific knowledge and practical experience on the new EU accession methodology and to further expand the existing people-to-people links in the region, promoting cooperation amongst think tanks and CSOs.

The project contributes to provide an alternative, educational approaches to topics that are important for the education of new generations such as; environmental protection, SDG, STEM, innovation in entrepreneurship, and astronomy. Furthermore, to create a robust Balkan network of new generations and to build a theoretical basis, a framework for the Balkan region for the impact that astrotourism may have on STEM education, SDG, and environmental
protection.

The project contributes to establish a network for cooperation and partnership among CSOs, communities and grass roots organizations in WB, and to create a platform that will serve as a tool, to promote the best practices of self-producers of solar energy, to facilitate the exchange of information and knowledge among diver’s stakeholders and to raise awareness on the initiatives and innovative solutions on clean energy that must be adopted by policy and decision makers, aiming to build partnership and common actions in WB for unlocking the great potential of solar energy and advancing the regional agenda of sustainable development.

The project contributes to promote and empower young women in politics, from three cities of the Western Balkans Region, in order to become an active part of politics and to raise their awareness about the important role that they should play in the political and decision-making processes, specifically starting from the local level and the public sphere as well.

Project Name – Promoting collaboration between SMEs and Civil Society in the fight against corruption

The project contributes to enhance the impact of civil society in improving public awareness and social activism through evidence-based advocacy, watchdog and policy monitoring, and dialogue with the local Governments in the area of good governance and anti-corruption. Furthermore, to strengthen CSOs’ capacities for structured civil society dialogue and outreach through networking and regional cooperation

The project contributes to enable free expression of the people’s views and commitment for environment and climate change, stimulating open dialogue for the EU integration challenges thus contributing to sustainable development in the Western Balkan Region through encouraging engagement of stakeholders for an open dialogue and regional cooperation.
