The Western Balkan Region has a long history of emigration, resulting in substantial diasporas.
However, modern migration has brought many challenges that our societies yet have to fully address.
At the Western Balkans Fund, we have funded many regional initiatives that focus on the challenges posed by mass migration.
We are delighted to see that our partners in tackling “brain drain” and other important issues, have expanded their research and have now become authoritative voices at European Level.
Big applause to them and CEEMR (Central and Eastern European Migration Review) and partners, the University of Warsaw, Centre of Migration Research and PAN for supporting the research in this field of crucial importance to our Region.
