#LeadBalkans inspires | “Success” Storytelling puts successful diaspora leaders on the spotlight

During the evening session of the #LeadBalkans – Regional Leaders of Diaspora Conference, the spotlight turned to seven diaspora leaders whose professional journeys reflect the scale of Western Balkans talent on the global stage and the opportunity this represents for the region’s future.

The session featured Xheneta Krasniqi (Microsoft), elected among Germany’s Top Young Women in 2025; Strahinja Djurčić (Vogue); Prof. Klarita Gërxhani, Member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences and Professor at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam; Andi Hoxhaj (King’s College London, OBE); Daniela Naum (OSHE Group); Klement Camaj (University of the West of Scotland); and Prof. Pëllumb Kelmendi (Auburn University).

Their stories spanned technology, media, academia, policy, and business, but converged on a shared point: diaspora is not a peripheral audience, it is a strategic partner. These individual achievements matter not only as personal success, but as proof of what becomes possible when expertise, networks, and ambition are connected back to the region.

Different fields. One message: the Western Balkans has talent that travels, achieves, and leads and the future depends on turning these individual successes into stronger bridges for cooperation, investment, research, and mentorship back to the region.
