The Western Balkans Fund is happy to introduce Katarina Popović. She has joined the WBF team for a period of a one-month internship.
Ms Popović is a graduate student at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade. She is currently perusing a MA in Peace, Security and Development.
Her previous work experience included working as a Japan Cooperation Officer for a private Japanese company in Belgrade and she did a 6-month internship at the United Nations Office in Belgrade.
In addition, she is an active member of the Independent Journalist Association of Serbia, the OSCE Dialogue Academy Alumnae Network, Organization of Serbian Students Abroad (OSSA) and a few others.
Having grown up in Canada and lived in Japan in her high school years, Katarina speaks 4 languages, and as a linguist is interested in the field of discourse, how it is shaped and how it impacts international security.
She is also curious about topics such as gender sensitive language, language policy and planning, peacekeeping, political affairs and she is an advocate for linguistic minority rights. She can operate a non-engine airplane, play the piano and enjoys running and photography.
