GGI Grants: Timeline for applications expires with 263 project proposals submitted

The application period for the Grant for Grassroot Initiatives (GGI) has now officially come to an end.

During the open call window, a total of 263 regional project proposals were submitted through the Western Balkans Fund’s Online Grant Management System, confirming once again the strong interest across the region for initiatives that promote cooperation, partnership and people-to-people exchange.

The Western Balkans Fund would like to sincerely thank all those who engaged with this Call for Proposals: the organisations that developed project ideas, searched for partners, took part in the process, followed our updates, submitted questions, and ultimately completed and submitted their applications.

This year’s Call has been among the most competitive to date, both in terms of the number of applications received and the level of interest generated throughout the application period. The strong response reflects not only the relevance of the GGI Grant Scheme, but also the continued commitment of civil society and other eligible stakeholders to work together across the Western Balkans.

With the application phase now concluded, the process enters its next important stage: evaluation. All submitted proposals will be assessed in a transparent and professional manner by international experts and members of the Secretariat, in line with the rules and procedures of the Call.

The Western Balkans Fund remains committed to keeping applicants and the wider public informed throughout the next steps of the process.
