A few months ago, the play “Four Sisters” was staged at the Banja Luka Student Theater.
Supported by the WBF–EU Joint Action, the performance unfolded through fragments, notes, reflections, and memories, raising a crucial question: Can a family divided by distance be reconstructed from fragments, from shadows of dialogue and reflections of memory?
Today, we ask a similar question again. This time, not through theatre, but through one of the largest conferences dedicated to diaspora in 2026.
Taking place in Tirana, #𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗮𝗻𝘀 – 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮 Conference seeks to build a network that reconnects the “family”: those living in the Western Balkans and those whose lives have unfolded beyond the region’s borders.
Different experiences, languages and perspectives, fragments shaped by distance, movement and time. All of them, will meet together in a single, strong network that resonates beyond borders, and helps build a future in which the Western Balkans is defined not by what separates us, but by what we create together.
