River Drina is one of the most important rivers of the region. It has incredible economic and touristic value for its communities.
Yet, pollution has emerged as a key obstacle, limiting its potential.
Earlier in September, Discover Serbia, a grantee of the 7th Call for Proposals, tried to tackle this issue head-on by mobilizing volunteers to clean Perućac Lake, the Drina Dam, and part of the river flow.
The cleaning action was followed by workshops aimed at raising awareness and strengthening cooperation among the areas.
In this action, Discover Serbia from Priboj relied on the support of its partners: Ekocentar in Višegrad, NVO Novus in Skopje, and Ozon from Nikšić.
This project is part of the 7th Call for Proposals, co-funded by the European Union, IPA III – Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance.
