In the stunning setting of Ljuboten Peak, nestled within the Šar Mountain Range, a new chapter in regional cooperation is underway.
Supported by the Western Balkans Fund-European Union Joint Action, the Mostar-based association Udruženje SARA is leading the project “Bridges of the Balkans”, an initiative aimed at fostering strong cross-border collaboration in the field of mountaineering.
Through the exchange of best practices and the development of new cooperative initiatives, this project seeks to contribute to the sustainable development of alpine communities, with a special focus on remote and cross-border regions.
Partnering organizations in this initiative include:
- PSD Prenj Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
- Planinarsko Društvo Jelenak Pančevo (Serbia)
- Mountaineering Club “Ljuboten” Tetovo (North Macedonia)
The project is funded by the European Union through the IPA III – Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance, reinforcing the EU’s ongoing support for regional development and cooperation in the Western Balkans.
