A group of young leaders from Western Balkans and Mr. Hannes Swoboda the President of International Institute for Peace and Former Member of European Parliament made a visit at WBF premises in Tirana. They were in Albania in an important event regarding the future of our region called “Young Generations for the New Balkans 2030 _ Toward Alternative Horizons”, which consisted in a two-day event and was finalized with a paper released what young leaders think should be done to enhance regional cooperation.
As the very first intergovernmental initiative to work on the regional cooperation and support eh civil society organization Western Balkans Fund was one of the institutions, they had a visit. During the visit they were host by the Senior Program Manager Ms. Dafina Beqiri, who explained in details the work of WBF and the vision of the secretariat for the future. Also, an important topic was the challenges of young people and the political situation in the region.
Mr. Swoboda who has a huge experience in European Parliament and also experienced working in the region was very supportive towards the work of WBF but also discussed some thoughts about the impact of the works which Is done until this moment in the regional cooperation. During the conversation was also mentioned the “1st Western Balkans Civil Society Summit” which is organized by Western Balkans Fund with the support of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
